Renew your mind, renew your life

The first day of a new year, we make all kinds of resolutions about things we'll change and do differently. Although all of our intention and effort is certainly good and noble, it is perhaps a little behind in his Approach. Maybe we get the cart before the horse. Rather than behave this way on the change, perhaps we need to rethink how we in personal success!

Why do I say this? Several years ago, James Allen wrote the book very popular, "as a Man Thinketh." In this book, he declares: "All a man suffering and all he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts." It is a very powerful statement! We are as far in life as we are because of our thoughts. In fact, a person can never act outside their beliefs. If you want to change your behavior, you must first analyze the back. You must return to what you believe, because you believe that determines what you think, and finally what you think affects your emotions. Once the behavior of your emotions get involved soon followed. If you think many things that are not true, your emotions and behavior ultimately reflect that!

I think James Allen has probably been influenced by the apostle Paul. Paul wrote in Romans chapter 12 (NIV Bible), "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. "Paul basically tells you if you want to be transformed then renew your mind. What it means to have renew your mind? In fact, the renewal or extension of the word here means "being made over." It's like having a mental make-over, if you want. Want to achieve a desired behavior? Then, you must first change the way you think. If you change your point of view, how to think about things, you will change your life. Renew your mind, renew your life! You and I could use an extreme makeover of our daily thoughts!

You can tell you, I still can not see what all this has to do with New Year's resolutions? It is very important because on any given day, all sorts of negative thoughts and destructive self-abuse speak your mind. Did you know that most people entertain negative thoughts that about 600 day? It's a lot of negative influence! It'sa lot of pressure that fights with good intentions. In fact, most of us, at the age six years have taught us enough trash mentally for life. We learned all sorts of lies that our society, friends and families have told us or modeled us. These lies have become records that play non-stop in our subconscious mind. We adopt them as true, and they become the message of life and beliefs that we livelihood, almost unconsciously.

For example, what happens to your desire to lose weight when you get into a fight with your spouse? In a fraction Second, after the food cry, you pull the refrigerator and binging. Where did it come from? You just reacted without giving it a thought. Then You rationalize, "Well, I am not a good plan anyway, so why bother," and you throw in the towel. What he arrived at your will?

I think if we want to renew, or to be made during our life, we will have to to introspection. What I really think? If food is the question, what is my point of view on food and why I turn to her? How do I I consider first? More importantly, what is the truth that I believe? What does God think of me?

Not long ago, One of my clients do want to get a handle on your diet. She had undergone gastric bypass surgery and had lost considerable weight, but eating habits have not changed. I thought it was an unusual request of coaching, but why not? If I really believed that people acted on their beliefs, so why not work here? We have therefore begun to examine why she ate first. It had eroded his self-confidence because of some problems of abandonment its past. His diet was a form of self-love and comfort. So, she made a conscious decision to reject the lies that had thought about its value. She began to believe in the truth that only God could not change her, but loved him unconditionally to personal level. She was determined to challenge his negative thought patterns, especially the way she thought about herself. She began talking to herself (faith comes by hearing) and tell the truth itself. She writes love notes to herself to God and ordinary claims its mirrors. It looks like the truth itself several times. It would consciously aware of their negative thought patterns in different situations and work on changing his monologue. It began to represent themselves as loved, value and healthy. My client was to renew its spirit, like the Apostle Paul had said. The change does not happen overnight, but I saw her change. She began to turn my eyes, for she began to believe the truth! She has seen huge changes in eating habits and desires.

When it comes down to it, the determination and commitment are huge, but if we do take the time to find out why we do things we do, we might as well keep repeating history. We do not need to reform the old as much as we need to get out of our new identity as believers! If you take the time to change your thinking, you will change your life. Renew or revamping your mind to the truth, and eventually you will renew your emotions and especially your quality of life. It is true that our life is going in the direction of our thoughts lead us.
